Meet the Artist!

Mac McGuire is a Chicago-based illustrator, muralist, and comic artist inspired by life experiences, the natural world, and the occasional strange dream. Her comic work strives for honesty and borders on oversharing in the efforts to create understanding and community among her audience. She has been working as a muralist in Chicago for two years now; her clients include Columbia College Chicago, the Hawthorn Mall Shopping Center, and Blue Plate Catering.

Raised in the suburbs of Indiana, Mac McGuire decided she would be an illustrator while learning to read. She was inspired by the picture books her parents read to her, and she was fascinated by a career that brought stories to life. She earned her BA in illustration with a minor in animation focused on motion graphics from Columbia College in Chicago. She aspires to create work that evokes the same awe she held so close to her heart as a child, book in hand and head in the clouds.
