Meet the Artist!

Mac McGuire is a Chicago-based illustrator, muralist, and comic artist inspired by life experiences, the natural world, and the occasional strange dream. She blends traditional and digital illustration styles, creating work that aims to evoke a nostalgic and emotional feeling in viewers.

Raised in the suburbs of Indiana, Mac McGuire decided she would be an illustrator while learning to read. She was inspired by the picture books her parents read to her before bed, and she was fascinated by a career based on bringing stories to life. She acquired her BA in illustration and minor in animation with a focus on motion graphics from Columbia College in Chicago. She aspires to create work that evokes the same awe she held so close to her heart as a child, book in hand and head in the clouds.
